Matthew and Sarah first met at age 14 when Sarah joined Called Higher, a sailing ministry in Vero Beach. During this time, Matthew and Sarah started getting to know each other as teammates while sailing together. A few years later, Sarah formed a close friendship with Matthew's twin sister, Megan! As Sarah and Megan grew even closer, Sarah began spending time with the DiPietro family, even joining them on a family vacation.

Fast forward a couple of years, both being 19, Matthew and Sarah discovered a shared interest in skateboarding, which led them to spend more time together. As the days passed, they grew to become best friends, and Sarah started to notice more than just a "friend" feeling towards Matthew. At first, Matthew didn't realize it, but he shared the same feeling. :) A week before Sarah's 20th birthday, in the Chipotle parking lot, Matthew sprang the question to Sarah if she would like to start dating, and thankfully, she said yes!

Over two years passed of happy and love-filled dating, and Sarah and Matthew started discussing the idea of marriage. So one fateful day, when Sarah and her mom were on a sailing trip, Matthew snuck over to the Eliason's house to ask her Father for her hand in marriage. Later that same day, Matthew walked into Sixth Avenue Jewelers to find the perfect ring for the most important question of all.

A couple of months later, on April 23rd, 2025, Matthew took Sarah on a sunset picnic date to the side of their favorite canal to enjoy some Publix subs and fishing. Little did Sarah know that Matthew would propose that evening. He was shaking in his boots as he got down on one knee and asked Sarah if she would spend the rest of her life with him in marriage. She happily said YES! and proceeded to tackle him in a big hug!!

Matthew and Sarah's favorite things to do together include going on outdoor adventures (such as fishing, camping, hiking, etc.), attending church early on Sunday mornings, staying home and relaxing, playing games together, going out to eat Irish pub food, watching movies together, reading, shopping at thrift stores, and antiquing! They are each other's best friends and can't wait to start their life together, joined in Christ as husband and wife!
